Walk The Block    Every Saturday

“Walk The Block” is a community initiative that was created in July 2020 to help struggling small businesses in Barrio Logan. Shop owners and local vendors set up their outdoor booths all along Logan Avenue. Food, Drinks, Clothing, & Gifts all available with a chican@ twist.

Lazy Days, a Virtual Art Exhibition   Through Sept. 2

Enjoy great watermedia art 24/7. The paintings by our very talented members are available for viewing and purchase in our Online Store. Award-winning artist, Robin Erikson, is the juror. Upon purchase, the paintings will be shipped to the buyer unmatted and unframed.

Del Mar Racing Season   Through Sept. 6

Fans flock to the track each summer to wager on their favorite horses during the popular, annual Del Mar Racetrack racing season, mid-July – early-September. Be part of the magic and nostalgia of this long-time horse race tradition dating back to 1937 when Bing Crosby greeted the first guests, and Seabiscuit won by a nose in the infamous race in 1938. This season features the nation’s top racehorses, trainers and jockeys, and plenty of fun in the sun.

Nighttime Zoo   Through Sept. 6

Stay after dark and help us celebrate summer during Nighttime Zoo at the San Diego Zoo. Come “rock and roar” every day this summer with music and other amazing entertainment experiences. There’s so much to do, see, and hear at Nighttime Zoo—it’s a good thing summer hours are longer!

Julian Grape Stomp Festa   Sept. 4

We are excited to be continuing the old-world tradition of kicking off your shoes, rolling up your pant legs and letting tons of blessed grapes squish beneath your feet! Regular Admission – $20.00. Includes Wine Glass (for those 21+) and Stomping & Great Entertainment. Tastings are $1.00 each and are not included in the admission price.

San Diego Design Week   Sept. 8-12

Celebration of design featuring presentations, studio tours, workshops, and self-guided tours hosted by groups throughout San Diego’s binational design community. Programs feature all disciplines of design — from interior and landscape design, to fashion, graphic design, technology, and more — with the intent to give special access with the aim to spotlight new projects, create opportunities for learning and dialogue exchange, and provide designers the opportunity to share bring bold perspectives, to inspire change and envision a new future.

San Diego Blues Festival   Sept. 11

his year’s 2021 lineup features nine musical acts including Larkin Poe, Rick Estrin & the Nightcats, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Aki Kumar, Nikki Hill Band, Backtrack Blues Band, Tia Carroll, The Fremonts and Tracy Lee Nelson. The event lives up to its mission to provide great blues at an affordable price, and raise money to support the battle against hunger in our community through the San Diego Food Bank.

Art Night Encinitas   Sept. 11

Encinitas civic and local art galleries swing open their doors at Art Night Encinitas. The event celebrates the city’s diverse visual art scene at participating locations and is free to the public. Enjoy live music and refreshments at several locations.

San Diego Festival of the Arts   Sept. 11-12

Browse for your next piece of original art to display, enjoy beer and wine in a 21+ event, listen to a wide variety of musical entertainment, and select your next nosh from San Diego’s eclectic food scene.  It’s a great vibe for a great cause. Tickets, silent auction, and beer & wine sales all benefit adults and children with disabilities. $2.7 million has been raised through this primary fundraiser since 1987.

Teen Splash Bash   Sept. 18

Ramona Musicfest   Sept. 18

Oceanside Harbor Days   Sept. 18-19

Two event filled days of sun, sand, and surf provide an outstanding opportunity for residents and neighbors to experience fun activities such as a costume party for kids 12 and under (accompanied by parents) at Capt’n Junebug’s Kids Zone where they’ll meet local pirates and mermaids. Other activities include Arts, Crafts and Food booth areas, Military, Public Safety displays, music, a beer garden (patrons 21-years old and over with a valid ID showing proof of age required to enter) and more.

El Cajon Oktoberfest   Sept. 24-26 & Oct. 1-3

Come and enjoy authentic German food, such as bratwurst, ox-on-the-spit, potato salad, potato pancakes, sauerkraut, red cabbage, pretzels, and a variety of German pastries. We offer a great selection of German beers and liquors, and soft drinks and water, to enjoy with your friends and family! Our band, the Guggenbach-Buam, joins us from Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Watch traditional folk dancing performances, compete in our numerous games and contests, check out vendor and craft booths, and treat your kids to their own Kids’ Zone.
